Does she really? I wonder whether she knows Albanian and whether she uses that pronunciation on purpose because it's more intuitive to English-speakers.

I'm not sure, but that was my assumption when I first learned this. In fact, if you listen to her sing, she has a particular vocal style that is either intentional or a product of an ability to speak Albanian that has left her with an accent.

 (el) Me tromazeis, by Onar

I was just doing some filesystem housekeeping, and I came across Onar's discography. Relic from my depressive teenage years. Good music though.

Tacawit [θʃawɪθ], a.k.a. Tachawit, Shawiya Berber, and Chaouïa is another Berber language, apparently from the Zenati branch again. It's spoken in northern Algeria near the Tunisian border (further north than Tugurt) and not far from the Mediterranean Sea and from where Kabyle is spoken. This is a folk song in Tacawit by Nadia Tachawit called "Hlili fu quwwar inin":

Logudorese is a variety of Sardinian spoken in northern Sardinia. It is the only one of the three big varieties of Sardinian (the other two being Campidanese and Nuorese) that I couldn't find a song in on UniLang. This is apparently a traditional dance song in Logudorese from the town of Florinas by a folk band called Figulinas:

Nuorese is considered a variant of Logudorese by Italian linguists.

So Italian linguists break Sardinian down into Logudorese and Campidanese, and further break Logudorese into a variant called Nuorese?

Oh, I think linguists in general consider Nuorese a variant of Logudorese. I didn't think about that, so I guess I was wrong to treat them as three entirely separate varieties of Sardinian. That's a good point because I think there is one song in Nuorese that's been posted. But not in this variety of Logudorese! (Or at least I don't think anything has been posted in this variety of Logudorese ).

EDIT: I also wrote in my post that the song was from the "down of Florinas." :rotfl:

Sardinians will be so mad at you they'll turn you into a capretto arrosto! (roast kid — pun intended.)

Sorry, I was wrong. It seems they do voice some consonants, but not word-initial ones.

The song itself begins at 0:40. Really love the chorus part. :)

Sassarese is a language spoken in northwestern Sardinia. Apparently, it's transitional between Corsican and Sardinian, and apparently, both Corsican and Sassarese are derived from Tuscan dialect(? I'm not really sure how this works. Probably there are other people on the forum who are more familiar with Sassarese here :P). Anyway, this is a (folk or at least folk-ish) song in Sassarese called "L'usthurani Sassaresi" by Giovannino Giordo:

Gallurese is a language variety spoken in northeastern Sardinia, sometimes considered a dialect of Corsican and sometimes considered a transitional language between Sardinian and Corsican. Logudorese Sardinian is also spoken in Gaddura (the part of Sardinia in question). This is a video featuring polyphonic choral singing in Gallurese. This type of singing appears to be very common in neighboring Corsica as well:
