That (very vaguely, of course) reminds me of yakshis in Kerala. They're demonesses disguised as very beautiful women and tend to seek out noblemen. After sleeping with them, they reveal their true selves and eat them.

Thanks! :)

They are absolutely magnificent  Beautiful! My jaw dropped as soon as I was the first one.

Definitely better than anything I could draw ;) Though my wolf I'm pretty proud of (not sure if I'll ever get around to scanning it :para: ).

Actually, I've encountered "dialogue" way more than "dialog", especially in its main sense of a transcribed conversation. I only see the latter used in technological terminology, such as "dialog box".

Sorry I have nothing to contribute to this thread. I used to love sketching prototypical cars and ocean liners when I was younger, but I lost all my sketches and have also long ago lost the ability and the desire to return to sketching.

Canadian spellings are probably common in states that are right on or about the border. But further down (where the greater part of the States* are) I doubt "dialogue" takes precedence. Of course, I'm pretty ill-knowledged on this type of thing, so who knows.

Nah, it doesn't seem to have anything to do with proximity to Canada here AFAICT. Maybe it has more to do with the fact that other loanwords like "epilogue," "monologue," "prologue," etc. are typically spelled with the -ue at the end (it's "Ethnologue," after all, not *Ethnolog).

But I have seen all three of those words without the -ue at the end by Americans :hmm: Maybe "monolog" less so…

Yeah, Americans do write that way sometimes but <monolog> and <epilog> are (well, at least according to Wiktionary ) all alternative spellings even in the US, unlike <dialog> (and I guess <prolog>, although personally, I associate <prolog> with computing and <prologue> with literature).

What's the computing use of "prologue?"

Koko wrote:What's the computing use of "prologue?"

According to Wiktionary, it can mean:
A component of a computer program that prepares the computer to execute a routine

It's also the name of a programming language. (AFAIK it's never spelled <Prologue> with that particular meaning).

Would anyone like to draw one of my Isyan gods (Nik) for free for me?

I got some descriptions on clothes and eyes… and an idea that he looks easily translatable into bara

Great! Thank you! I'll pm you the descriptions. Nothing on the shape and build, just visuals (clothes and eyes, as mentioned), so that can be left up to your imagination ;)

What's bara?

Umm… not important :P At least not really for Nik.

It's just a form of hentai porn that involves two very exaggerated masculine characters  You don't have to worry about it. If somebody wants to turn something into bara, it will be done

Thanks! Your pic is nice too. I wish I'd been able to paint so well when art was one of my middle school subjects. ;)

Painting has never been my thing :nope: Nor has colour in general: I either add to much colour, press too hard, or absolutely fail in some other way. Shading's where it's at ;) d(^_^o)
