Not very exciting, although I like the shoes. The colours are very loyal to Sweden.

Haha, I guess you're right that the white/blue still dominates. But the reference with the yellow is so clear it pokes out .

The qípáo is a very sexualized form of dress, being form-fitting and having a slit up the side.

Áo dài is common formal wear in Vietnam.

Side note: The bow goes at the back. Wearing it in front implies that the woman is a prostitute.

I like seeing women wearing our Indonesian traditional costume, it's called Kebaya.

She has a very nice figure. It looks almost like she's wearing a corset.

Brabantic traditional costumes. These days no one wears the traditional costumes any more; not even at festivities.

I don't think I have ever seen this. Which is not surprising because it's not worn anymore, but still. At a festival in the village I grew up in they were wearing traditional costumes but they didn't look like those.

Its Vietnamese cousin, áo dài

Áo dài evolved from the dress of aristocrat women in Northern Vietnam, while the cheongsam had its origin with the Manchus, so I don't know if they can be called cousins. Seems pretty far-fetched to me.

Áo dài is not that common anymore. It's been losing ground to Western dresses and suits among younger women, and only teachers and flight attendants wear it on a daily basis.

The male áo dài is pretty much a thing of the past, now only seen in wedding photos (and not even frequently). It looks lame anyway so I'm glad it's dead. The garish colours don't help either.

There isn't just one because we are a very mixed nation that was born out of multiculturalism. So, it would mean that there would have to be a series of American ethnic costumes like Native American dress, Cowboy, Colonial attire, Afro-Creole Clothing, Slave Rags, Immigrant Clothing (Asian and European), Hawaiian Traditional Dress, and Hispanic Southwestern Style. So you see there really isn't just one national costume for the USA or for many other countries in the Americas. Like Mexico has several costumes as does Brazil. In countries like USA, Canada, Brazil, Mexico, Cuba, and Australia it is hard to define a pure national costume. There really is no such costume here in the USA. The culture and demographics change depending on the section of the country you are in.

Probably blue jeans and a white t-shirt for both! Oh and an American flag somewhere like a bandana or pin.
