"Let it go" in your conlang

Postby s.wilhelmy0247 » 2014-08-11, 23:28

Okay, I'll start, this is let it "let it go" in my conlang. For the most part, the translation is the same. Exceptions: (if completely different, just write english translations)
I'm never going back, the past is in the past!: I must ignore them, and reject directives!
My powers flurry through the air into the ground!: My powers flurry through the ground into the air
One thought crystallizes like a mighty blast: My ideas crystallize like a mighty blast
Let it go, let it go, and I'll rise..., let it go, let it go, that perfect girl...: Enjoy it, enjoy it, and I'll rise..., enjoy it, enjoy it, that perfect girl...
Here are the lyrics:

Et wåns s’wålg ätihú nå et nätnúaam spåt

Wow, that looks great! Unless you have loads of vowels in that language, I would say you seem to have diacritic-fever! :-D

Here it is in one of my conlangs, Northlandic. This is actually the version which gets sung over the end credits of the film, but I'll do one for the original version as well soon:

Lessen is geut!

1. Lessen's geut,
Lessen's geut,
Ij neu is nijt kan haal,
Lessen's geut,
Lessen's geut,
Ij vongeu an se deur klaa',
An her ij stand,
An her ij vil sta,
Lessen's geut,
Lessen's geut,
Se kalt mij ne beschlecht in e veg!

2. Is es og van mit som geuende,
Al beseuens klaan,
An se faaren saas mij bedrijvt,
Ne kan am mij geut in e veg,
Op her in se kaltkleun ar,
Ij lastfollich kan braat,
Ij vit ij lefft e lijf for mij,
Ab ij's tefijl freutfol satten!

3. Lessen's geut,
Lessen's geut,
Ij neu is nijt kan haal,
Lessen's geut,
Lessen's geut,
Ij vongeu an se deur klaa',
An her ij stand,
An her ij vil sta,
Lessen's geut,
Lessen's geut,
Se kalt mij ne beschlecht in e veg!

4. Standende, freusfol,
In se lijf ij heb tocht,
Vu villen mij finden,
Se forsaat's al mij forgeut,
Untlaan, in se schnij...

Lessen's geut,
Lessen's geut,
Ij neu is nijt kan haal...

5. Lessen's geut,
Lessen's geut,
Ij vongeu an se deur klaa',
An her ij stand,
An her ij vil sta,
Lessen's geut,
Lessen's geut,
Se kalt mij ne beschlecht in e veg!

Lessen's geut,
Lessen's geut,
Lessen's geut...

I've just noticed that the words to your conlang are pretty much just the English words spelt backwards, is this deliberate?? Not all of them, just a few, but enough for me to think it can't be a coincidence!

Here I post Let it go in Güçen, a Germanic language I've just started creating.

Lass et gán (Let it go)

Di Çné grawt isse ásk Támjene höt Níht
[dɪ 'çne: 'gɻaʊt 'ɪssə 'a:sk 'ta:mjənə 'xœt 'ni:xt]
The snow glows white on the mountains tonight

Kainá Çtera saw án gít
['kaɪna: 'çteɻa 'saʊ a:n 'gi:t]
I see no footprints here

Nu ainzamu Könikríç
[nʊ 'aɪnzamʊ 'kœnɪkɻi:ç]
an isolated kingdom

änt án bin di Köniki
[ɛnt 'a:n bɪn dɪ 'kœnɪkɪ]
and I am the queen.

De Vint brawt çtärke lik di virki Çtürm in áns
[de 'vɪnt 'bɻaʊt 'çtɛɻkə lɪk dɪ 'vɪɻkɪ 'çtyɻm ɪn a:ns]
The wind blows strongly like the great storm in me

Án könne 't niht hidan
[a:n 'kœnnnət nɪxt 'xɪdan]
I couldn't hide it

bö dízu trídte án.
['bœ 'di:zu: 'tɻi:ttə a:n]
but I tried.

Lass wán in niht
['læs wa:n ɪn nɪxt]
Don't let them in

Lass wán niht sán
['læs wa:n nɪxt 'sa:n]
Don't let them see

ni götti Gäli müsst jí zín bían
[nɪ 'gœttɪ 'gɛlɪ 'myst i: 'zi:n 'bi:an]
you must always be a good girl

Behidt, fül niht
[be'xɪt, 'fyɫ nɪxt]
Hidden, don't feel

Lass wán niht kenn'n
['læs wa:n nɪxt 'kenan]
Don't let them know

Naw kennen wén
['naʊ 'kenən we:n]
Now they know

Lass et gán, lass et gán
['læs et 'ga:n 'læs et 'ga:n]
Let it go, let it go

Án könne et niht howdan
[a:n 'kœnnə et nɪxt 'xɒʊdan]
I couldn't hold it

Lass et gán, lass et gán
['læs et 'ga:n 'læs et 'ga:n]
Let it go, let it go

Tunn änt çlam dan Türan
['tʊn ɛnt 'çlæm dan 'tyɻan]
turn and slam the doors

Et märt niht
[et 'mɛɻt nɪxt]
It doesn't matter

hvá wén cellan villen
['xva: we:n 'tseɫan 'vɪɫən]
what they will say

lass dí Çtürma gán
[læs di: 'çtyɻma 'g:an]
Let the storm go

De Kowd habt ána níva niht bepödt
[de 'kɒʊd 'xæbt a:na 'ni:va nɪxt be'pœt]
The cold has never bothered me

Et's çleçtu hó di Färhiht
[ets 'çleçtʊ 'ho: dɪ 'fɛɻxɪxt]
It's strange how the distance

tut Ällu zo körnu
['tʊt 'ɛɫʊ zɒ 'kœɻnʊ]
makes everything so small

Dask Fíören, dask ána kontrólton,
[dæsk 'fi:œɻən dæsk a:na kɒn'tɻo:ltɒn]
and the fears that controlled me

haben färe begirt.
['xæbən 'fɛɻə be'gɪɻt]
are far gone.

Naw trídu án hvá án tun kann
['naʊ 'tɻi:dʊ a:n 'xva: a:nn kæn 'tʊn]
Now I try what I can do

Adesk Rúçene müss án gán
['ædesk 'ɻu:ʃənə 'mys :an 'ga:n]
I must go to the limits

Kainu Riçtu, kainá Hära
['kaɪnʊ 'ɻɪçtʊ, 'kaɪna: 'xɛ:ɻa]
No right, no rules

Án bin fríi
[a:n bɪn 'fɻi:ɪ]

Let the storm go

Ánz Kräftu rennt naw duná Hävna á Grúnde
[a:nz 'kɻɛftʊ 'ɻent 'naʊ 'dʊna: 'xɛfna 'a: 'gɻu:ndə]
My power runs now through the sky to the ground

Ánzi Çúl tunnt naw in befänntem Glazem rúnde áns
[a:nzɪ 'çu:l 'tʊnt 'naʊ ɪn be'fɛntəm 'glæzəm 'ɻu:ndə a:ns]

And this is my version in Izkaironki (a language I've been working on much longer). I'll post the English translation and the pronunciation as well:

Γαριωζυ'ș (let it go)

Βατασε μταμναβὐα γυζωσικ,
[ba'tase mtamna'bua gu'zosik]
There's snow today on the muntain

εσκιγυμ σᾦσυν ιζτυγύ.
[es'kigum 'swsun istu'gu]
Nobody is seen

Τșελιβίλ-νυεκερυμ
[ʧeli'bil nwe'kerum]
Kingdom of loneliness

ικα βυνγι σᾆδύ νυεαγ.
['ika 'bungi saw'du 'nweakʰ]
and I am the queen.

ᾼρε ιλαχιρμαν, κωμ μιζ τωσπερακικ.
['ajre ila'xirman, kom miz tospe'rakik]
The wind blowing, like my storm

Κεναμφἰυιτζεν ιζτίθ,
[kenamfi'wiʣen is'tiθ]
I couldn't hide it

șω παδζιτζεν διθ.
[ʃo pa'ʣiʣen diθ]
I tried it.

Ιζυαμșιωζυ, ιζκαδιωζυ'μ,
[izwam'ʃjozu, iska'djozum]
Don't enter, don't look at me

γυιζίν șεșικω βιλανεδυνικ.
[gwi'zin ʃe'ʃiko bilane'dunik]
I've alway been a good girl

Ιζπιλιωζυ, ιζεφὐακελα,
[ispi'ljozu, izefua'kela]
Don't feel, don't let them know

νᾆ καγυμβυδα.
['naw kagum'buda]
Now it's clear

Γαριωζυ'ș, γαριωζυ'ș,
[ga'rjozuʃ, ga'rjozuʃ]
Let it go, let it go

φυκ νενασυαδικε.
[fuk nenaswa'dike]
That's enough

Γαριωζυ'ș, γαριωζυ'ș,
[ga'rjozuʃ, ga'rjozuʃ]
Let it go, let it go

σᾆδύ ιτακίνιτικ.
[saw'du ita'kinitik]
I'm free

Ξαζτυδα
[xas'tuda]
It doesn't matter

κα αᾁριρετ,
[ka ahaj'riret]
what they will say

τωσπερ'κα φωλκακα
[tos'perka fol'kaka]
Let the storm fall

Καφωνφυῄφ βυνγι λᾳὡ ικυστιγ.
[kafon'fwejf 'bungi 'lajho i'kustikʰ]
I like the cold anyway

Γαβάρεαν λαφυ
[ga'barean 'lafu]
From far away

ωσγύκ υδα τșυκίνιτυμ,
[os'guk 'uda ʧu'kinitum]
everything is small

ικα ακλαμβυσκ 'ηυσκ μ'αșτιακιρετ
['ika ak'lambusk ɲusk maʃtja'kiret]
and the fears that caught me

λαφυ-ενγα γυνδα φυκ.
['lafu 'enga 'gunda 'fuk]
are far far away

Νᾆ παδζᾳρε κα κενφιτζεν δυθ
['naw pa'ʣajre 'ka ken'fiʣen 'duθ]
Now I'll try what I can doo

ρυσχαριυσκ ιρᾳρε 'κα υδύνεαν.
[rus'xarjusk i'rajre ka u'dunean]
I'll go to the limits and beyond

Βυνγις ιζκιρι λωββώκ σακαλ.
['bungis is'kiri lob'bok 'sakal]
There are no rules for me

Ιτακω!
[i'tako]
Freedom!

Γαριωζυ'ș, γαριωζυ'ș,
[ga'rjozuʃ, ga'rjozuʃ]
Let it go, let it go

ᾼρε, ζᾳλε ικα βυνγι.
['ajre, 'zajle 'ika 'bungi]
The wind, the sky and I

Γαριωζυ'ș, γαριωζυ'ș,
[ga'rjozuʃ, ga'rjozuʃ]
Let it go, let it go

βυνγι ιζπιδυρᾳρε.
['bungi ispidu'rajre]
I will not cry

Σιμγίτ σᾆδύ
[sim'git saw'du]
I am here

ικα ι ρεμδᾳρε.
['ikaj rem'dajre]
and here I will stay

Τωσπερ'κα φωλκακα.
[tos'perka fol'kaka]
Let the storm fall

Μωζ λαωγ' ᾳρυἁντε σιβιrυταριε γωιῄ.
[moz la'ogajru'hante sibiɾu'tarje go'jej]
My power goes through the wind to the ground

Μιζ αμφακναίτζ κιγι βυνβανγέ τυννιτζεν δυγύ.
[miz amfakna'iʦ 'kigi bunban'ge tun'niʣen du'gu]
My frozen soul turns around me

'κα συγανδιβιλυσκ λαρανβακαρεν γυνδα.
[ka sugandi'bilusk laranba'karen 'gunda]
and my thoughts are made of ice

Ωζκυγωιτζεν ιτζινωτυ, ιακωσκε ιακωσκαν.
[oskugo'iʣen iʣi'notu, ja'koske ja'koskan]
I won't come back, the past is in the past

Γαριωζυ'ș, γαριωζυ'ș,
[ga'rjozuʃ, ga'rjozuʃ]
Let it go, let it go

νᾆ κατεβωσυν ζινωτυ.
['naw kate'bosun zi'notu]
now I'll rise

Γαριωζυ'ș, γαριωζυ'ș,
[ga'rjozuʃ, ga'rjozuʃ]
Let it go, let it go

βιλανεδυνα γανικε.
[bilane'duna ga'nike]
The good girl is gone

Σιμγίτ σᾆδύ
[sim'git saw'du]
I am here

ιλἰωεχινε.
[ilioe'xine]
with the sun

Τωσπερ'κα φωλκακα.
[tos'perka fol'kaka]
Let the storm fall

Καφωνφυῄφ βυνγι λᾳὡ ικυστιγ.
[kafon'fwejf 'bungi 'lajho i'kustikʰ]
I like the cold anyway

No, this is not a coincidence! About a fourth of the words in the language are english words spelled backwords, some have added preixes or suffixes, and some even resemble their english counterpart (rare, words like pajsä, which is the word for past (noun), but the other three thirds derive from my own roots, words I have created for the language family I have created, there are 5 languages, really four with one really distinct dialect on the verge of another language....
