I've already started a log on HTLAL, but I can open a thread here too and copy my entries

Unfortunately I haven't learned any other turkic language, so I can't compare Tatar with other languages of that family.
All I can say now is that pronunciation wise Tatar seems much more "guttural" to me than Turkish. :)

Ho do I open a new subforum inside of "other languages"?

Actually I've just realized that there's already an existent thread for both Tatar and Bashkir, so you don't need to open a new one. It had apparently been created by a native speaker :)

Here you go:

The BBC has produced a podcast series called Danışan kitablar.

So far they have been working on the recording of Kurban Said's novel Ali and Nino.

It's not really a resource, but could be helpful. In President Aliyev's official Facebook page the president's messages are posted both in Azerbaijani and English.

It's a pity there are no example sentences.

I flipped through it and it didn't seem that bad

It's probably not worth its price though.

Why do you say this? :(

(I have the Hungarian version and it seemed all right when I skimmed it. Haven't had use for it yet though.)

Azərbaycan Türkçəsinin Nəhvi by Prof. Mohammad-Taqi Zahtabi
Full book (large PDF) of a grammar of Iranian Azeri, written in Azeri and printed in Perso-Arabic script. This is one of the most complete (and up-to-date; it was published only about eight years ago) grammars of Iranian Azeri I have come across.
Please correct my mistakes in any language.

Could any of you who have used Elementary Azerbaijani please send me the audio to it? It would be a huge service to me. The two CD's that the author sent me along with the textbook are defective. That has resulted in an imbalanced situation in which my spoken comprehension is far inferior to my written comprehension, due to having had to forego the book's audio drills. More importantly, despite having done quite a bit of research on Turkish stress and being familiar with the commoner exceptions, l can't seem to get down the pitch accent that distinguishes a native from a foreign accent. Thanks.
