(A news site in Kashmiri)
vijayjohn wrote:Well, not really. What I do is to use Google Input Tools for Hindi (you probably know what I'm talking about already, but I included a link just to make sure it was clear ), but since Kashmiri has a lot of sounds (mainly vowels) that Hindi doesn't have, there are other symbols that are used for writing Kashmiri in Devanagari script but aren't used in Hindi. Those symbols are the ones that probably aren't displaying correctly. (I find that some symbols display better in Chrome than on Firefox and others are the other way around ).
So to add those special symbols, I click on "special characters," then a small window pops up and I click on "Symbol" and then "South Asian Scripts," and then next to that, I click on where it says "Bengali" (which is the script they show you by default since Bengali starts with B ) and click on "Devanagari" instead, and finally, I go through the list of symbols and click on whichever one I need.
Sorry, it's kind of a complicated explanation. Hope it makes some sense, though!
