Are you sure it's not the other way around? Bengali films are notorius for copying songs from Tamil, Telugu and Hindi.

Two News sites for Bangla:
http://abpananda.newsbullet.in/

http://zeenews.india.com/bengali/

Both Zee and ABP have news in English, Hindi, Bengali and Marathi but not in any other Indian langauge. I wonder why?

Well, I've had this song stuck in my head for like half a year now. Thanks. I found the lyrics (only in romanized Bengali, of course) - can anyone translate? All I understand are the English words and "dil dil dil dil deewana mon" (heart, heart, heart, heart, crazy heart).
Please correct my mistakes in any language.

Sorry Eskander, I can make out some of the lyrics but not all of them,

"Baja Sanai Ar Baja Re Dhol"- Means something like Play the clarrinet, play the dhol. I'm guessing from Hindi though. mon মন means like heart/mind kind of like Hindi मन. Khusir Dine Te Nechece Mon means something like all my days are happy in my mind/heart. Premeri Chowate Prann Chai Harate is something like for love/in love people want to lose their lives. Tomari Chokher Neshai means your eyes and I don’t know if neshai means glace or look, or something else. Shukheri Chadore Premeri Adore, I’m not sure about shukheri, but chadore adore, means to lift a sheet or veil. That’s about all I have for now. I’m going get my Bengali dictionary and try to have a go at the other sentances later.

Bengali writting isn't always phonetic so translating something with just the roman script is hard :(

Thanks Meera! I was able to convert some of the romanized lyrics back into Bengali by typing them in Google Translate, and using that I found some lyrics online (mostly just the parts you translated already):

বাজা সানাই আর বাজারে ঢোল, খুশির দিনেতে নেচেছে মন
মাতিয়ে আজ পাড়া মন শুধু বাঞ্জারা, করি যে শেলিব্রশান
দিল দিল দিল দিল মেতেছে মন
দিল দিল দিল দিল দিওয়ানা মন

Yeah google translate is quite bad with Bengali. It uses a type of Bengali that you would find in like old novels and not everyday spoken Bengali. I'm gonna see if I can find some of the lyrics in the script you posted in my dictionary and I will post it here.

আজ means today, I think বাঞ্জারা means wander or lost but I'm not sure, I can't find it anywhere. যে means that, and পাড়া came up in my dictionary as neighborhoods but seeing it the roman script I thought it was "can" because the verb to be able is পাবে. That's about all I found though :(

I have almost all of Satyajit Ray's not-so-short Bengali movies with subtitles. :) বাংলাও অল্প বোলতে পারি। It's a pity a lot of them aren't subtitled on YouTube yet. Personally, I think Parash Pathar is probably my favorite Indian comedy ever, but it's so underrated, and it seems there are no subtitles for it in any of the YouTube uploads.

(When my dad bought the DVDs for me, he bet me that after I saw them, I'd be fluent in Bengali. I'd say he was wrong. I watched all of them and started going through Teach Yourself Bengali, and even after that, I don't think my Bengali is too good. That being said, at least at first, I felt much more comfortable with Bengali than with Hindi/Urdu. Hindi and Urdu are way too Persianized :P).
