Starting Maori

Hi everyone!

I have just started learning Maori, but, beside Maori TV and Memrise courses, I have found only some (rather old) books, like "Beginner's Maori" by K.T. Harawira (1950, on uztranslations). Do you have some suggestion? Is there any Maori speaker willing to help? I have read that, unfortunately, the best Maori books are avalaible only in NZ, and I am not really confortable with online courses. I am more a "paper-loving student", beacuse I love to take notes around my volumes, underline everything and draw a lot of diagrams on them.

Thanks in advance :D

Did you check out Te Hū o Moho on uztranslations (search without the macron)? It has 4 levels with lots of audio. :D It seems pretty good. Perhaps I could interest you in Samoan instead? ;)

Anyways, awesome that you are learning Maori. :)

I did't check it, but I will do it immediately, thanks :D As for Samoan, I found some months ago a Peace Corps manual which seems quite good, I think it's still somewhere in my files. Anyways, I'm interested in many languages, so why not taking Samoan too? :)

I'm thinking of studying some Samoan, since there are a lot of Samoan people in my area. Just search Samoan on UZ and you'll find several good books. :)
