Samoan, anybody?

Postby AnaMZ » 2009-12-17, 1:46

Talofa lava,

Just wondering if there's anybody about that learns/is wanting to learn Samoan? I don't speak it myself, I'm half-Samoan but I only know the basic words (and threats from my mum, you know how it is :P). In a way, I'd rather like to learn, but it's difficult to find resources. Anywho, just wondering if there are any Samoan-speakers out there...??

Nah not for me thanks. My school in Auckland offered it when I lived there and I didn't take it. I used to know a few random words but they've been lost to me now :(

There are some resources out there, meager as they may be. Have you tried the the Nile of the Aussie Bookworm?

Very late reply (I was distracted by the Scandinavian languages floating around in my head... oy veh!), but yay, at least one person here learns it! How far have you managed to get with it?
I can sing a few songs but I can't spell anything out... I'm always shocked by what I'm saying actually looks like on paper. :P
