Well, I know for sure that I'm going with Nāhuatlatōlli, unless I can a) find better, free/inexpensive English resources for Mayan/Quechua or b) learn enough Spanish to understand ~70% of the Spanish resources. Though Tzotzil does seem like it would be accessible, using the resources posted here. Hmm.

Mayan, Nahuatl, Quechua (maybe Aymara and Guarani) seem to be popular choices.

The Mayan languages look so cool to me for some reason. And Náhuatl, though it seems like a bit of a tongue twister. tl, tli, lli, pl. I'm less familiar with the others, sadly. I could attempt to learn a bit of everything for a start. Oh, this is going to be confusing.
Oh, I see! Cool!księżycowy wrote:It would be either a month or three month CSAILC*, similar to the NAILC during the Powwow. People could choose to do it for only a month, or a full three month SAC** like event. I'm just using the date as a jumping off point. We could start the CSAILC earlier, I just don't want both the CSAILC and NAILC going at the same time, or over-lapping really.
NAHUATLOut of curiosity, what do you have for Nahuatl?
Yeah, that's kind of the problem; shipping American-published resources to Europe usually costs an arm and a leg, and it usually takes about half a year, too. They might have some at the University of Oslo, indeed; I'll have to ask Aleco about that (though I'm not sure whether they even lend/sell resources to non-University students, so ...).And suprisingly, most of the Quechua and Mayan resources I've listed are priced nicely. Though getting them to Europe might bump it up a notch. Nor could I guarantee some of them would ship internationally.
But Universities are usually pretty good about that. And of course Amazon has websites internationally. So it just depends on your price range, and what your looking for.
Not to mention ejectives and aspirated affricates.księżycowy wrote:Luke wrote:The Mayan languages look so cool to me for some reason. Yeah, Nahuatl can be a bit fun to pronounce. Though those Mayan languages can get a bit crazy with the glottal stops.

Cuauhtémoc Day (Mexico, Nahuatl) - August 2
Cobán Folkloric Festival (Guatemala, various) - late July or early August
Inti Raymi (Peru, Quechua) - June 24
Aymara New Year (Bolivia, Aymara) - June 21
So I think July/August will the starting point for the CSAILC.
