While perusing the translations I had pondered on answer The moon is the dream of the sun, but decided to make a note here instead.

Depending on which Cherokee you talk to, this may or may not be comprehensible because the Moon traditionally is the daughter of the Sun.

"nvda iga ehi uwetsi agehyuja", (celestial-body day exist-er child-of young-female), daughter of the sun.
[It's interesting to note that the word agehyuja refers to a "younger daughter" and not an "adult daughter"].

"nvda" is the word used for any celestial object. Stars and planets (perhaps even asteroids).

So the words for Sun and Moon are formed from this word.

nvda iga ehi, Celestial body day dweller, (Sun)
nvda usv ehi, Celestial body night dweller, (Moon).

The word for month is formed from this word.
sinvda = A single month, month. (si- prefixed to certain nouns/verbs pertains to a single, or one).
iyanvda = Months

Interesting notes.
I was also somewhat reluctant to proving a translation for Lakota.
