This is my TAC 2015 thread, including only two languages, Irish and Faroese. I'm explaining why I'm learning them:
[flag=]ga[/flag] Irish
Why: I love almost everything Irish and I'm planning to move to Ireland when I grow up.
My level: Around A2.
Current Goals:
- Obtain at least a B1 level by September.
- Be able to write short stories.
- Be able to make more difficult sentences.
Future Goals:
- Obtain a B2 level by 2016.
What to do:
- Pronounce Irish words at least ten times.
- Let my parents buy books teaching Irish with English description (like Teach Yourself or Colloquial).
- Watch the internationally available programmes on TG4.
- Find a fluent Irish speaker and talk to them.
[flag=]fo[/flag] Faroese
Why: I love the Faroese culture. Eivør is one of my favourite singers whose native language isn't English.
My level: I consider myself a lower beginner.
Current Goals:
- Obtain at least an A2 level by December.
- Be able to write more difficult sentences.
Future Goals:
- Obtain a B1 level by July 2016.
What to do:
- Study Faroese pronunciation.
- Buy a/some Faroese book(s) with English description.
- Talk to a Faroese speaker.
