TAC 2013 - etothepi (DA, FI, DE brush-up)

Postby etothepi » 2013-01-27, 17:08

I know I'm starting late, but I'll do this anyway. Besides, I only just decided what languages to do...
I'm not even going to try to write anything in the other two ([flag]da[/flag] and[flag]fi[/flag]) but I will say that I'll probably spend most of my time on Danish, until I have enough time to take Finnish on seriously (probably the summer) as I feel I will need as much time as I can get for it.
For the moment, I don't plan on using any particular books, other than what we use for German anyway. Danish and Finnish will be self-guided, through whatever I can find here, or elsewhere online. But if anyone has suggestions, please feel free to send me links or book titles, or whatever else might help :) .

Ist es nicht "aber es gibt immer einige Grammatiksbegriffe die ich besser zu verstehen will" ?

Anyways, good luck ! :)

Little update on methodology: I'll be using Duolingo as well as school work for German, and unilang/memrise for Danish and Finnish, though I'll have to see how much they actually have. For pronunciation, I'm browsing Forvo, and I'll be reviewing vocab with anki, if i remember to...

Depends on what kind of music you are into. I'd definitely recommend Viikate, but there are actually also many other really good Finnish bands.

Well unfortunately this is going slower than I thought it would. All I've really done, two months in, is to look up the numbers from 0-100. I'm learning a bit in German class, and some day I'd like to take the time for a comprehensive review. But until then, all I can do is look up random bits of things when I have time...

Question about Dutch: Should I bother learning the gij forms of verbs or not? Is it still useful enough to care about?
