[flag=]ja[/flag]I did some exercises in the Genki book. I did my best at Hiragana but I think I made some mistakes.

1) (Greetings) Use a phrase to go with the picture
A.)おはよう
B.)ありがとう
C.)こんばんは
D.)すみません!
E.) いただきます
F.)ごちそうさま
G)いってきます
H.)いってらっしゃい
I.)ただいま
J.)はじめまして. よろしくおねがいします.
K.)さようなら
L.)おやすみなさい
M.)こんにちは
I also had to answer these questions about time:
1) いまなんじですか?
ごじです
2) いまなんじですか?
くじです
3) いまなんじですか?
じゅうんじいはんです
4) いまなんじですか?
よじはんです
I also had to translate these sentances into Japanese after learning about "no".
1)Japanese Student
にほんごのがくせい
2)Takeshi's phone number
たけしのでんわばんご
3)My friend
わたしのともだち
4)English teacher
えいごのせんせい
5)Michiko's major
みちこのせんもん

Translate the following into Japanese:
1. Miss Ogawa is Japanese
おがわさんはにほんごです
2.Mr.Takeda is a teacher
たけだ-さんはせんせいです
3.I am an international student
わたしはりゅうがくせえです
4.Michiko is a first year student
みちこはいちねんせいです
5.)Mr. Yamamoto is 25 years old
やまもと-さんは25-さい

6) Japanese is my major
わたしのせんこおにほんごです

After doing these exercises I understand why they use Kanji. :P

A few corrections:

Meera wrote:3) いまなんじですか?
じゅうんじいはんです

Do you mean じゅうじはん (10:30)?

2)Takeshi's phone number
たけしのでんわばんご

Number is ばんごう.

1. Miss Ogawa is Japanese
おがわさんはにほんごです

にほんご is the language. The people are called にほんじん.

3.I am an international student
わたしはりゅうがくせえです

Student is がくせい.

6) Japanese is my major
わたしのせんこおにほんごです

わたしのせんこうはにほんごです。

[flag=]hi[/flag]/[flag=]ur[/flag] Read some Premchand stories, working on Book 2 in Living Language Hindi and read some passages from TY Urdu. Worked on my Urdu handwriting and that's about it.

[flag=]fr[/flag]Almost done my tree on Duolingo, well maybe not almost but I'm past halfway I think now. I'm also translating some parts of articles on there also. I got my first translation tier!

[flag=]ja[/flag] Some more phrases I learned this week:

おげんきですか?
How are you?

わたしはげんきです。ありがとう!
(I'm good, thanks!)

ください
(Please!)

わかりますか?
(Do you understand?)

わかります
(I understand)

しりません
(I don't know.)

[flag=]fa[/flag] I don't if I should add this or not but I have been listening to Chai and Conversation everyday. I'm really surprised about how much Persian I can speak and understand. Yesterday I read an article on BBC and I understood at least 50 percent of it. I know it's not a lot but it still felt good

Also should I make a new thread of 2014 or should I use this thread and change the title? Is that against the rules?

I think the only issue is if your thread becomes so long that it has troubling loading. My current thread is my old WAC 2013 thread, but I only kept it becaue as my WAC thread it didn't have many posts.

Haha it was fun but yes I'm surrounded by Otakus. My teacher even said "most people here like anime, right?" and I was the only one that shook my head no. :P

Yeah, I'm not into anime either. I hope you enjoy yourself. I'd love to take a Japanese class.

My power was out for an entire week due to an ice storm, it's back on now though finally! So I will probably do an update tonight.

In Hurricane Sandy it went out a whole two weeks. But yeah it really sucked. We are getting another snowstorm tomorrow night and I really hope that it doesn't go out again.
