OMG, I totally forgot I had to translate into FRENCH! I got the text yesterday, read through it and thought "Ok, I'll just type it out right now, should take a few minutes, let me check whether I was supposed to do Dutch or German... oh." I'll do it as quickly as possible, though. Fubar alarm! :para:

I had copied you in, don't know why you didn't get it. Sent it again now, did it arrive?

It's nice to see the forward text is moving once again.
Is there any current update on the backwards one?

Also, page 1 could use an edit to show the current progression.

Just an FYI.

The forward text has been out of my hands since 1/18/2010. Also, If I'm reading linguaholic's
posts correctly, I think she may have already translated hers and passed it on as well (1/19?).

I haven't seen the backwards text as yet...

Whoops, it seems that I did the cross wrong :P It *should* be updated now, just to clarify, Loqu has both texts, right?

I think we can safely say you have identified the bottleneck... :D

By my calculations Loqu has had the backward text for appx. 2 months (12/08/2009 from
Eginhard) and the forward text for nearly 1 month (1/19/2010 from Linguaholic).

On that note, I'm done here... There's a statistical chance > 0% that I could die before this game
finishes... That's not hyperbole by the way - I'm due in to the hospital in the morning for a surgical
procedure for my heart... Cross your fingers for me...

Presumably it goes well, but either way, this game has long since lost any appeal it might have
had when we started it ... 4+ months ago...

So, good luck, take care...

Wow, good luck, definitely!

I'm sorry it's going so slowly, when I started it I was swimming in free time, lately I've been super busy, but it's still progressing. Plus I think it's just the nature of the translation games that they take ages. :P

so does loqu still have both texts or has it just not been updated? If so, could you update the list.
Thanks.

So seeing as this game has essentially stopped, why not just post the chains of translations as they are up to this point, so people who participated (and this was a huge group - wow!) get to see how the text changed over time. I can translate the forward text from French back into English and someone who knows Latin can do the backward text into English, and this way people get to see some sort of result. 8-)

I support that the game be continued with some people taking care of loqu's place. The game has run for 6 months already!

By the way, I hope that things went alright for Fourspeed.

Alright, which would you guys rather do? Me just post the chains as is, then have someone translate Loqu's just to English, or do we want to find someone to translate the texts, then keep the game going?

I could translate from Latin to English. :D Definitely not to Russian or French though. :doggy: :P

Or if you wanted to wait a week or two, I could translate it to Klingon.

Since we need somebody with a Latin/French pair, what about modus.irrealis?

EDIT: By the way, I found that FourSpeed did make a post in March afterwards. That's reassuring...

I can still do Spanish/English whenever it's needed.

Oh, I had already forgot about this game. :P ILuvEire, is there any interest in getting it through to the end? Otherwise you could just post what you have. It's already been 6 months...

Thanks for your thoughts!

The procedure went well, they have a good understanding of what the problem is, and hopefully,
it should be manageable with meds and attentiveness.

Regarding the game, I too would be curious to know, at least, what the original text(s) were
(although I never did get the backward text).

Grargh. Having this tucked away on the games forum, I forgot about it. Well, Loqu seems to be back, if he wants to do his translations, he can, if not I've got the texts about ready. xD
