Sorry but I cannot seem to translate this. Any help appreciated.

It's Tibetan or Dzongkha. "བངེ་བ" (bange ba)
native: (tr)
advanced: (en) (el)
intermediate: (fr) (ka)

I can't speak Tibetan, though I tried to learn it. So I can't help with the meaning. But I'm sure it's written in the Tibetan script.

That doesn't even look like a real Tibetan word. Normally in Phags-pa script, the raised dot divides syllables. So either the vowel mark is on the wrong consonant or the word should be divided into three syllables rather than two.

I think it's supposed to be བདེ་བ.

If I was Hungarian, I'd be more upset about the Whole Ten Yards. Those gangsters are portrayed as if all the Hungarian people lived in the country. And is Strabo Gogolak even Hungarian name? :)

When it comes to Iron Man, the scientist said that Ten Rings was a multinational terrorist organization, so I don't find it weird that the guy spoke Hungarian.

What about the Beautician and the Beast? Fictional country Slovecia where Czech text is seen. Dictatorship worse than a communist regime (no union) etc. It's a friggin' movie goddammit!

Yes, that's right. The first half is (or the first two lines are) in Simplified Chinese; the rest is in Japanese.

Here's what it says:

使い方:
カードをタッチしてください

Hopefully, you should be able to copy that from here.

But is it Mandarin? All those software with both "complicated Chinese" and "simplified Chinese" are in Mandarin or some kind of koiné?

Jokes can be harder to identify on the Internet than IRL. ;)

On Unilang is harder. If I joke in English or Spanish I got corrected, and in Portuguese people fail to understand it's a joke, they think they're misreading me.

Except when joking in Portuguese to other Portuguese speakers, like today; and when Loqu was a regular.

(Did I use the ";" correctlly?)

You mean except when joking with other native speakers of Portuguese? You did that today? The last time I remember seeing you do that on UL was with Prowler yesterday.

And yeah, we're a bunch of language nerds who still don't know you that well yet, so...:P

On my timezone it was Saturday both times. I think.

Two things:
1 - You don't have to know me very well, you just have to notice I'm here since a couple of years and my English doesn't such (much) so some things are probably intentional.
2- In the specific case of "traditional Chinese" in software, they all got written "traditional Chinese" literally, no "chinês tradicional" in Portuguese. (I mean, except when it's in Chinese itself), so there was no possibility of mistranslation of my part.
3 - I like lists.
4 - Is "mistranslation" acceptable? It was not a joke. My spell checker underlines it.
5 - I'll actually try to make better jokes next times.

"Mistranslation" is like the most common word prefixed with "mis-" after "misspelling", so I have no idea why your spellchecker would underline it. Then again, a lot of spellcheckers have a very small number of recognised words and would be better called shellpeckers. That was supposed to be funny, but it turns out that it's too much of a stretch to suggest a link between the comprehension of the spellchecker and the size of its vocabulariser's penis, especially when done in a way that doesn't really explicitly suggest the connection but only implies it through an allusion to a turtle-like penile action and use of the word "small".

Humour is subjective, though, you know. Anyone telling another person that their sense of humour is shit should be arrested by the joke police. I'm right here! C'mon, arrest me! Why aren't you arresting me? I made a bad joke! Nobody's laughing, why am I not behind bars already? ARREST ME!!!!

People on TV interviews use to laugh about some very bad jokes, it's unbelievable!

Can anyone identify this? I was thinking Italian, but an Italian friend of mine says that it's not.
