Hello everyone, I'm relatively new in this community, so as I've seen this topic has become the presentation area.. I'll do it as all of you have done :P

My name's Gábor and I'm from Cuba, I'm living in Barcelona and I'm studing languages at the Autonomous University of Barcelona. I dream about the day I could go to Japan finally comes, because that's one of the languages I'm passionately studing.

If someone is interested in practicing with me... I'm also trying more or less to learn Chinese and Esperanto, of course I also want to master my English which sometimes is not really as good it should be by now :P

You can post your questions there. There are a few people (inclusing myself) which will try to answer.

Sorry, Tomak, but the few Greek I know is Ancient Greek...

No, no, no!

emadir answers French questions, thousands per day, it looks like, and very kindly

ekalin answers Greek questions, and very kindly--not so many Greek questions appear :)

But you're right, we don't pronounce anymore the second -e of "certainement" so we just say "certain'ment"!

Qbaa2 (?) wrote: to make this forum more divers we could try to write in two other good known languages, instead of English (for ex. in French and Spanish, I think that each member knows one of those languages)
what do you think about it?

I do not think it is a good idea because NOT everyone speaks French or Spanish. Some of us speak English, Esperanto and are learning Korean and Yiddish.

I really do agree with Lynch´s first answer that this should only concern small messages. Unilang is the opposite of mololang. Whatever language or alphabet is being used, it is worth it, for it could spur us on or incite us to learn or to take an interest in other languages!

Recently I realised how important it is. Since now I'll try to put a Polish translation to all my messages.

Ostatnio zdałam sobie sprawę jakie to ważne.

Good, good, there's a lot of francophones (French speakers) here.

I would have said more, but it seems as if my damn French class only teaches us to understand the written word and answer written questions. Piece of **** class.
